This is my plea...

Oh! Dear goddess Laxmi,
You are also called Durga,
You are the same Kali,
You are Saraswati.
This is not a eulogy,
It is my rosary.

Look down on earth, dear,
And on this India, your land,
Of your supremacy, your devotees,
And then look at your daughters,
Look at their plight,
And then look at their sight,
Give them eyes, mother.
So that they look,
At the world, with your eyes,
And not with those,
Of your sons, and their sons!

Then tell your sons, mother,
To devote less to you,
And not think of their females,
As you or someone better,
Teach them, O Ma!
To look at them as human beings,
And tell them,
Not to look them as whores,
If they donot behave like you.
And tell them, Ma Saraswati,
That you still lie on their tongues,
And stop screeching,
Anti – women terms,
In all walks of life.

And lastly, Ma durga,
Teach your earthly daughters,
To be strong like you,
They can’t be exactly like you,
But they can’t be a Murali,
Tell them they are your daughters,
And you are with them,
If time comes to stand against,
Your beloved sons!

Do this Ma, do this,
Your sons and daughters,
All need you.
Come down if you can,
And bring into reality,
This gibberish of mine.
